Grand Nepal Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Meet MMT (Mountain Mart Treks) airport representative at International Airport and transfer to your choice of Hotel /Resort /Guest house. Free afternoon. Involve well come dinner held by MMT management, introduce guide, trip briefing and check trip necessities.
Day 02: Kathmandu City excursion
After breakfast in the Hotel, proceed for sightseeing tours to world heritage sites of Pashupatinath Temple-the holiest Hindu Temple on the bank of sacred Bagmati River, Bodhanath Stupa-the biggest Buddhist Stupa architecture in the world! and Swayambhunath Stupa-the 2000 years old legendary stupa on the hillock also nick-named as monkey temple. Morning: Patan is the oldest city in the Kathmandu valley with age old tradition also called Lalitpur-the city of fine arts. The visit covers the Durbar Square, the Krishna temple, the Kumbheswore temple, the Golden temple and many more. Morning: Kathmandu city tour covering the Durbar Square, the living goddess Kumari, Nautale Durbar, the Kaal Bhairav, the Swet Bhairav, the freek Street and more.
Day 03: Kathmand – Pokhara via 3 hrs. Trishuli River Rafting( 200km, 5/6 hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to rafting starting point (Charaudi,75 KM 2-3 hrs. drive) through countryside picturesque landscape. The trip hits a few thrilling rapids called “LADIES DELIGHT”, “UPSET” and “SURPRISE.” After Lunch drive to Pokhara offers an excellent views of the Himalayas and passes through several roadside bazaars and villages. Transfer to Hotel and free afternoon.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,495m/4,905 ft), 3-4 hrs walk
Breakfast in Lakeside (Pokhara) and 1 ½ hour car / van / hiace and bus drive according to group size to Naya Pul and commence our trek to Birethanti, a large and prosperous riverside village beside the Modi River & Broomdi Khola.( stream) We head up the main trail and follow upstream of Broomdi Khola (stream) to Sudame where we climb gradually up the side of the valley, reaching Hile (1495m) before pushing on to Tikhe Dhunga final destination of the day. Overnight at guest house run by the typical village family.
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,350ft). 5-6 hrs walk
After breakfast we prepare for the long uphill and start with steeply ascends on the long stone staircases to Ulleri village with the amazing landscape and marvelous view of Annapurna South and Hiuchuli. We spend a pleasant day's trekking through rhododendron and oak forests. The scenery gives you inner power to climb up these steps and immerse you to walk more. After few hours of walking with several breaks in between reaching at Ghorepani, we can enjoy the fantastic views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan range.
Day 06: Hike Poon hill (3210m/10528ft), and trek to Ghandruk(1950m/6398ft), 6-7 hrs trek
An early morning start for 45 minutes hike up to Poon hill (3210m/10530ft), the route offers the glimpse of the pleasant rhododendron forest. This brilliant viewpoint provides us an unobstructed sunrise over the high Himalayas and the wide range of panoramic scenery from the far western Himalaya of Dolpo, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and wised range of Annapurna Himalayas including Mt. Machhapuchre (Fish Tail) and all the way to Manasalu. After a great time in Poon Hill, trek back to Ghorepani, breakfast and continue trek to Tadapani through thick pine and rhododendron forest with occasionally flat, more ascends and descends along the ridge to Tadapani. The trail continues through the forested and downhill path most of the way with occasional view of the Mountain leads us through the gradual path most of the trail to Ghandrung village for overnight stop. This is heavily settled Gurung village, a modern sample clean and village of Nepal and explore the surrounding area, visit typical museum and simply relax at the hotel.
Day 07: Ghandruk to Pokhara (910m/2,986ft), 5 hrs walk & 1 hrs drive
This is our last day walk through the scenic landscapes and local villages to get down to the Syalui bazzar settled in river bank of Modi River. The walk is moderately flat most of the way following down stream of Modi River until Birethanthi and an easy trek to Nayapul. Our adventure ends here and we drive back to Pokhara, overnight.
Day 08: Full day Pokhara excursion
After breakfast, exceed Davi’s waterfall, Gupteshwor Mahadev cave, Tibetan refugee camp, historical museum, Seti River gorge and international mountaineering museum.
Day 09: Pokhara -Chitwan ( 155KM, 4-5 hrs drive)
Drive to Chitwan National Park- One of the Asia's best preserved natural habitat of Great one horned rhinoceros, Royal Benagal Tiger and many other endangered species of mammals, birds and aquatic lives. After refreshment, take a short walk tour to the village of Tharu aboriginal people whose life style remains unchanged over the century.
Day 10: Full day safari (Chitwan)
After breakfast, you will set out on a dog out canoe in Rapti River to watch the aquatic birds. If luck favors you, you will get to see the one of the endangered species of crocodiles-Gharial. The boat ride lasts for 30 minutes and you will visit the Elephant breeding camp, where you will have chance to play with the young elephant babies and learn how the elephants are captured in the wild, how they are tamed and trained to work for human beings.
Option: After the canoe trip, interestrd people with prior arrangement can take jungle walk tour that lasts 3 hours. It's a complete jungle walk trek on foot, guided by experienced jungle guides and sikaris. Return to hotel in the afternoon.
After lunch, you will again go to explore the flora and fauna of the park on the elephant back! Great experience! Great One Horned Rhinoceros is the unmistakable sight. Other animals commonly seen are Sambar, Spotted deer and wild boars.
Day 11: Chitwan – Kathmandu (160 KM, 4-5 hrs drive)
Early morning, you will take a bird watching trip guided by our experienced and qualified birdwatcher guides. Chitwan National Park, habitat to more than 500 different species of resident and migratory birds, is a haven for bird watchers. Return to hotel for breakfast then, drive back to Kathmandu through the upstream of Trishuli River with terraced field and hamlets. Transfer to Hotel.
Day 12: Kathmandu – ancient city Bhaktapur & late afternoon drive to Nagarkot (Sun Set)
Sightseeing of the ancient township of Bhaktapur-the original capital of Malla Kings of Nepal. The town is the best testimony of preservation of ancient and mediaeval arts and architecture. Visit Thimi-the typical Newari town adjacent to Bhaktapur. Drive continue to Nagarkot with awesome social stes and landscape. Evening fantastic sunrise.
Day 13: Hike to Chagu Nayaran – Kathmandu
Early morning breathtaking sunrise view over the snow-capped Himalayas with Ganesh himal range, Lantang range, Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal and Everest range make fantastic start of the day. After breakfast, trek downhill along the terraced faming field with the countryside villages. This 3-4 hours pleasant hike offers several picturesque landscapes and direct contact with local people. The Vishnu temple of Chagu Narayan and it’s ancient architectures makes day quite remarkable. Evening drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 14 : Departure
Transfer to airport and fly to onward destination.

Gokyo trekking with MMT- May 2013
My trek was with Mountain mart Trek starting from Lukla to Gokyo. It was a real experience in all of it forms. The natural sights were incredible; the guide was helpful and well prepared for the trek itself.
