- First-aid kit; should contain lip salve, Aspirin, Band-Aids, antihistamine, Imodium or similar tablets for mild cases of diarrhoea
- Rehydration powder, extra prescription drugs you may be taking if any particular

- Lightweight Towel
- Day pack (25-30 litre) to carry your personal needs during the day
- Torch/flashlight - headlamp style is ideal
- Insect repellent, sunscreen and lip balm
- Refillable water bottle - Min 1 Liter Aluminum or Nalgene polypropylene are best (2 bottles)
- Warm Hat
- Sunhat/bandana
- Sunglasses
- Gloves - wool or fleece and gore-tex
- Scarf
- Bag Liners to waterproof your bags (A duffel bag is provided to each trekker for trekking to pack main baggage by MMT in Kathmandu)
- Wind and waterproof Jacket & Pants
- Comfortable and sturdy walking shoes (worn frequently prior to departure)
- Socks: thick wool blend and thin cotton to be worn in combination - ensure boots fit such combination
- Running shoes or sandals for evening
- Wool jumper/sweater/fleece. Lightweight during summer, 1 heavyweight or 2 lightweights during winter months.

Getting there and away
There are two different ways to reach Everest Base Camp, the first option is to reach Khari Khola by road (2 days/ 12 hrs, walk before Lukla) and another is fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. The first option, a road trip following the pioneer route for the westerners to access Everest climbing before the Lukla airport, is a longer version of Everest Base Camp Trek. And another option is popular as it is a shorter trip to Everest Base Camp.
