Just returned from the gokyo lake and renjo La pass trek with mountain mart. Firstly a big thank you to my guide and porter Devvi - he was very professional, friendly and caring from start to finish of the trek service. Every detail was thought out and he always made sure I was comfortable and felt safe. I highly recommend him for your trek in Nepal! - he is strong, knowledgeable, and consistently considerate. His English is great! I was never left behind during the hiking and my he always ensured I kept my own pace with no rushing or pressure.
With mountain mart you get a really top notch service - teahouses were always on the upper hand with good beds, clean hygienic rooms and fantastic views !! I always felt that I had the superior tea houses and services. This makes a big difference in the remote areas after tough trekking !
Secondly the trip includes Everest boutique hotel accommodation before and after your trek in the most exquisite authentic Nepalese hotel with warm hospitality and an awesome rooftop. I have returned 2 times now to the Everest boutique hotel and have plans to come back again in 2024 - the only hotel to consider for your stay in Kathmandu.

We had a wonderful experience with mountain mart! our guide Yukumar and porter Ratna were amazing! They made sure we had everything we needed every night, and even accommodated small changes to our itinerary when asked. One of the reasons we chose mountain mart was because of the great reviews, and the price. They are very reasonable. I believe they provide different levels of accommodation, but I'm not sure its worth the money. we stayed in primitive but adequate guest houses. Once you get past a certain elevation, nothing is luxurious or comfortable, but you're not there for that I hope! the views more than make up for everything else. The food is all pretty good! you will eat a lot of the same things by the end of the trek, but for the most part, regardless of where you're staying, the dishes are pretty tasty! all in all, I'm glad we went with mountain mart! it was a great value for the money and overall, great experience.
My boyfriend and I had a life changing trip and can't wait to come back to Nepal again soon!

Myself and a friend booked for the 10 day Gokyo Ri summit trek from Lukla, starting on the 14th November. Neither of us could recommend our guide (Tilak) and porter (Bhula) any higher - our trip was absolutely incredible from beginning to end and it was due to these two!
Everything was so well organised and Tilak really knew his stuff, giving us so much information about the mountains and Nepal as we carried through with our trek. Both Tilak and Bhula could not have done anymore for us to ensure our experience was enjoyable.
We had an amazing time and (spurred on by snickers bars provided by Tilak) we summitted Gokyo Ri for sunrise to the most amazing views of the Himalayas.
Book with Mountain Mart and if they’re available, request these two to support you on your trek - you won’t regret it!

We have just returned from an amazing 10 day trek to Gokyo-Ri with Mountain Mart.
Prior to our arrival in Nepal we were very impressed with the communication from company owner Dolakh, who made sure any questions were answered promptly, we knew what kit to bring and we had a smooth transfer from the airport to our hotel.
Makar, our guide, made sure we had a great time on our trek. He was very knowledgable about the local area, good company and made us feel safe at all times. He was also incredibly well organised making sure we were well fed, hydrated and rested throughout the trip. At the slightly chaotic Lukla airport we sailed through the check in and departure process with his help.
Bir, our porter was also excellent. He tirelessly carried our bags during our trek and was also willing to help whenever needed.
We would highly recommend Mountain Mart for trekking in Nepal and would certainly use them again.

Cho-Oyu (8,188m/26,906ft), Mt Makalu (8,485m/26,781ft) and Lhotse (8,516m/27,940ft). The main highlighted destinations of the trek are the Gokyo Lake, Gokyo-Ri peak,, Renjo-La pass which are renowned for the breathtaking view of Mt. Everest along with other snow-clad peaks.
Gokyo Renjo La Trekking itinerary commences with 30-40 minutes turbulent mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport. The trek from Lukla follows the EBC trail through suspension bridges, rivers, Sherpa villages and Sagarmatha National Park. Trekkers may also encounter wild animals like: Himalayan Thar, Red panda, snow leopard, musk deer, etc on trails. The chirping sound of birds and insects render serenity throughout the trek.
Namche, the main tourist hub of Everest Region is the scheduled destination for acclimatization day. As the trek elevated higher, there is high chance of AMS due to low oxygen intake; therefore, 2-3 days of acclimatization is mandatory to accomplish the trek successfully. During rest day at Namche, the short trek to Khumjung valley offers the world’s highest hotel: Hotel Everest View; Khumjung School; Kunde hospital; and syangboche airstrip. Hotel Everest View is the most popular spot in the Everest Region for the majestic view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Khumbila, AmaDablam (6,821m/22,349ft), Lhotse (8,516m/27,940ft) and Mt. Thamserku (6,623m/21,729ft).
After few hours walk from Namche, the EBC Trails converge at the confluence village: Sanasa, from where the route turns left to the Gokyo-Ri trails. From Sanasa, the trail ascends to Mong, Phortse Thanga, Dole, and Machhermo offering the glorious view of towering peaks AmaDablam, Thamserku and Kangtega (6,782m/22,546ft); numerous monasteries and chortens; and cerulean landscape. The Gokyo trail ascends through sand pit and rocky cliff from Machhermo and Pangka village offering the stupendous view of Kangtega, Chadoten peak and Cho-Oyu; spectacular milky stream. 3 out of 6 sacred lakes of Gokyo valley: Longponga Tsho, Taujung Tsho and Gokyo Tsho appear one after another alongside the trail until we reach at Gokyo village.
The remaining three lakes: Thonak Tsho, Nzogumba Tsho, Gyazumba Tsho appear sparkling and turquoise under blue canopy. Gokyo Renjo-La Trekking is gaining fame due to Gokyo Ri peak (5,357m/17,575ft) from where Mt. Everest and Mt. Makaslu seem pristine and bewitching than from Kala Patthar summit (5,5454m/18,192ft).
From Gokyo valley, the trail traces Everest Three-Passes route towards the most beautiful pass: Renjo La Pass. The pass offers the gleaming vista of Everest, Makalu, Gyajung Thak, Tengi Ragi Tau, Himalayan range, Rolwaling Range. This temple of lord Shiva is one of the sacred temples of Hindus living in every nook and corner. The trek embarks with 30-40 minutes scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu (TIA) to Lukla (Tenzing-Hillary airport); the gateway to the Himalayas. Lukla airport is the highest airport in Nepal and also one of the most dangerous airstrips in the world with just a single runway over a cliff. The journey to the Himalayas begins after registering entrance card at Lukla Tourism Check point. The trail then formally commences entering through Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Memorial gate. As the trail drops down to Thalsaroa and Cheplung, the spectacular vista of surging Dudhkoshi river roar at the trekkers to accomplish the journey. From Cheplung, the trail crosses through suspension bridge over Thado Khola and offers the introductory mountain view of Mt Khumbila (5,761m) before reaching at Ghat. The trail continues to the first stop of the trek, Phakding, offering spectacular demonstration of the prayer wheels, mantras painted Mani stones and gompas. It takes about 1-2 hours of inclined walk to reach the small village Phakding. The village also has all the required amenities to satisfy the tourist. Hope you will have delicious cuisine and sound sleep in this small and beautiful village. Notice: Due to the fluctuate climate in the Himalayas, Kathmandu-Lukla or Lukla-Kathmandu flight may get delayed for one or two hours or even a day or two. Sorry for the inconvenience!
After warm breakfast, today’s trek commences from Phakding. The route to Namche is so enchanting though it is a long and tiring walk. Enjoy the breath-taking picturesque scenery of Namche village from the runway. The trail follows the zigzag gravel path to Zarok and finally to Namche.
