The Seti River south east of Pokhara is the ideal river for beginners and young family rafting. This “small volume” river has warm, blue water making it popular – even for winter trips. Scenically it offers great views of the Manaslu range and Annapurna regions to the north and passes through luxuriant, bird filled, Middle Hill forests that once stretched for hundreds of miles along the Himalayan foothills. The Seti flows into the larger Trisuli River for the last part of the journey. The region is home to Magars, a Tibeto-Berman people who are skilled craftsmen in stone, wood and carpet weaving.
This 32km trip has rapids graded 2-3from January to May – and is even more exhilarating, up to grade 4, after the monsoon from September to November. Comprehensive rafting instructions and tips are given before any trip begins.
You will require ‘rafting shoes’ for the water, a sleeping bag, light clothing plus warmth for the evening, towel, hat and suntan lotion. Kit will be packed in watertight containers on the raft.
Our return package is inclusive of bed and breakfast accommodation, transport, and the rafting expedition – which will be fully catered.
As this expedition ends close to the Chitwan National Park, a safari on elephant back would be the perfect way to end your expedition.
