I booked the 11 days Classic Himalaya Kala Patthar/EBC, solo trekking with guide. Since, this was booked for an odd date, when they were not offering the trip, I paid extra, like $160, but I guess that was ok.
Dolakh, the company manager was answering in real time to my texts, and he was helpful. Along the trekking pathway, I met people who were not happy with their trekking company, so I guess Mountain Mart stands apart, by honoring their agreement.
However, very important was my guide, and porter, Bishal. He was attentive, helpful, and respectful. Plus, he carried most of the weight.
I was supposed to do the 11 days trip, with one day accomodation, but I ended up skipping that.( I did take dexamethasone, and acetazolomide, though, for prophylaxis).
At Kala Patthar, and EBC, is really cold, so I ended up with acute bronchitis, and epistaxis. Even my guide, Bishal, ended up with a cold/bronchitis, and we both took antibiotics.
On the way back, I decided to do two days in one, since I had health concerns. Bishal was attentive, and accomodating to my requests. We ended up marching from 7.30 AM to 8 PM, 33 km in one day, so overall, my Himalaya trekking trip to EBC, and back, took 9 days, without helicopter.
If I were to go to Himalayas again, I would recommend Mountain Mart, and definitely my guide Bishal.

We were very pleased by our guide, Raju Gurung, who helped us out in the challenging situations of the long and exhausting descent from ABC. The overall planning of our trip by the agency was also quite good. More upfront information and choices could’ve been offered to help us decide in avoiding the tiring and somewhat unpleasant bus trip from Pokhara back to Kathmandu. /Steven K. (Canada)

I have just completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek. Being very honest, having a guide and/or porter for this trek is not really "necessary". However, if you want to enjoy much more your trip and have more peace of mind, making use of Mountain Mart will be the RIGHT decision to make.
Communication since the beginning with Dolakh for the trip arrangement was quick and efficient.
My guide was Durga, and he simply turned my trip into a delightful experience. He took big part of my luggage and made sure that all accommodations were booked in advance (key topic during high season), ordered meals for me according to my wishes and made sure that I got them on time (I could relax in my room while others were struggling to get their food). He provided good companionship and proved to be a reliable partner anytime I needed him.

I had the pleasure of taking the 12 day trek to Everest Base Camp, and I'm so grateful we were with Tilak and the Mountain Mart team. For not being a very experienced outdoorsman, this trip sure made me feel safe, challenged, and also like an absolute rockstar, and that is due to our amazing guide, Tilak. He was incredible knowledgeable, very fun, and directed us every step of the way. He allowed us to go at our pace (which was rather quick), and taught us so much about the surrounding area. Every night we were setup with great lodging, food, and items we needed to be successful.
I've already told a number of my friends about this trip and Mountain Mart, so if you are looking to go to Base Camp, look no further than Tilak and Mountain Mart!

Had the best time trekking in Nepal with Mountain Mart Treks, this October, 2019. We booked the Gokyo Lake/EBC Trek, but I got a little sick and exhausted so I decided to just complete the Gokyo Trek.
Our Guide Yukumar, "Kumar" as we called him, was super helpful and knowledgeable. He was very responsive to our needs and made the trek trouble free. Their selected teas houses we're top notch.
He handled our change of plans easily and when he noticed me struggling at times, even carried my small day pack.
Overall I'd give the company and our guide 6 stars if I could.
It was a wonderful experience made so much easier and better by mountain mart and their staff.
We also got a Kathmandu Tour a day before the trek and had them book a 3 day Chitwan National Park trip after our trek. Very helpful.

We've just completed the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek over a course of 4 days and the experience is nothing short of amazing!
Starting from Kathmandu where we reported in to head office , Dolakh is very helpful and patient in briefing us as to what to expect and also our itinerary.
When we eventually reach Pokhara, we were greeted by the ever friendly Ram and Dilip, our guide and porter respectively which were heaven sent! Tracking the hills over a course of several days were easy and fun filled with the dynamic duo. They Always made sure we were all right , slowly explained to us our surroundings and all our queries and always followed our pace , especially during the last day when our legs were swollen as hell from all the walking!
They also always made sure our well being was taken care of. Our meals , accommodations, water supply and bags (including hand carries) were very thoughtfully handled. Accommodations in particular for the few nights were always having the best possible rooms with the best possible views overlooking the beautiful Annapurna mountains. Being with them these past few days have taught us a lot not only on hiking in Annapurna region , but also the culture of Nepal. We had great and fun conversations, sang songs together and journeyed together very much like close friends whom have known each other for years
I strongly recommend MountainMart trekking company with Ram and Dilip if you're looking to hike in Nepal. You'll be very well greeted with the warmest possible hospitality and will feel like you're at home. They are truly the living Nepal culture of "come as a guest, go as a friend".

This was my second time trekking with Mountain Mart Treks & Expedition and it became one of my best trekking experience with Ram Bhandari and Dilip! They are not just guide and porter but they have becoming friends in Nepal. They took great care of me throughout the whole trekking journey.
They arranged the rooms with nicest view and hot shower for all nights, top notch accommodations! They always ensure my well being, my fitness and my happiness during the journey. I just need to walk and let them handle for me, they are so professional, I trust them whole heartily!
They made my trekking journey more fun and more interesting. We discussed, chitchat any topic from Nepal to Malaysia, from people to mountain, it feels like trekking with friends! So much fun and enjoyable.
Ram is very experienced and knowledgeable guide. I learnt so much about different mountains and how to differentiate them. He shared with me a lot of insight stories in Nepal, let me know Nepal in different way and made me loves Nepal more! He was very attentive and helpful as well.
Dilip, my strong porter. He is not just ordinary porter. We discussed about books and dreams. He even shared us some love poems. Every time I asked if he is okay, he always answered me very happily, he is okay! He always reassured me that nothing to worry about the weight.
I arranged everything over text with Dolakh and made few changes but Dolakh handled it quickly and professionally. I requested for an extra day in Pokhara and Dolakh immediately arranged a wonderful hotel for me.
I feel very grateful with Mountain Mart Treks & Expedition. They made my trip easier and memorable 😊 Thank you Ram, Dilip and Dolakh for the awesome trip! See you again next time! Definitely come back for third time!

I rarely leave reviews but I felt compelled because Mountain Mart Treks did a fantastic job taking care of our group within the 10 days of our journey to Everest Base camp.
Makar was our guide and he was beyond helpful and attentive to our needs. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to be with for the 10 days and made our trip much less stressful with his help and support.
I would highly recommend this company to friends and family, they really knew how to take care of their guests!

This was one of the more challenging but rewarding trips I’ve done!!! So glad to have checked Mt. Everest base camp off my bucket list! Quite an accomplishment! Nepal and the culture was unlike any I’ve experienced... and I’ve traveled the world. Absolutely breathtaking!
Mountain Mart trekking was super helpful in the endeavor, not only were they quick to respond at all hours of the day, but our guide Makar felt like family by the end of the trip!! He took care of us every step of the way, from explaining the culture, sharing the area he grew up in and local traditions, to getting us a Helicopter at my recommendation when the airport was delayed a day, so that we weren’t!! He went above and beyond when he found and surprised us with a birthday cake for my brother in the middle of nowhere.... top of the mountain almost to basecamp! Still don’t know how he did it but most definitely made my brothers day!
And the smile it put on my face is 10 miles wide. What a great adventure! I highly recommend using Mountain Mart Trekking! And be sure to ask for Makar!!

We did a 10-day ABC trek thru Mountain Mart. Mr Dolakh was extremely experience n gave us good info abt the trek. Our guide, Raju, was juz magnificent. He was v experience, knowledgeable n organised our trek v well. He made sure tat our lodging n food was good n we r comfortable thru-out the trek. He even ensured tat we r able to get hot showers daily. Most impt, he ensured everyone of us is safe thru-out. I was the slowest in the group n he accompanied me all the way. I left my power bank at one of the guest house and he went back to collect for me. The to/fro to collect the power bank took 1.5 hrs. The porters, Rutdra n Prakas were also v hard working n courteous. I definitely put a 5-star service for Raju’s performance n leadership. A truly wonderful guide to have. He also have good knowledge abt many subjects n I learned much abt Nepal thru him. Highly recommend to use Mountain Mart n Raju n team as guide n porters for treks.

10 day trek inclusive of Poon Hill and ABC for 3 Pax in their 50s. Pre trip communication was excellent with responsive replys from MMT’s Dolakh ranging from potable water to what to expect on the trek. The assigned guide Raju was thoroughly professional and provided direction and leadership to cheerful and hardworking porters Rudra and Prakash. Guide Raju organised rest breaks and lunches, and ensured that the night rest accommodations were to the best standards. Hot water for bathing, clean sheets and comforters, and meals orders including delightful fruit platter were expediently provided for. Guide Raju provided after dinner briefings on what to expect on the trek the next day and ensured that we were clothed right, made sure we had sufficient potable water and even tested our blood oxygen levels, and enquired on our general health and well being. That all said, my trek with my fellow companions turned out to be excellent and a wonderful experience. Guide Raju, porters Rudra and Prakash shared their knowledge of the Annapurna mountains and local culture along the way. Guide Raju singing folk songs along the way was delightful and made the trekking distances much shorter. The teams smiles and encouragement constantly buoyed our spirits. Dolakh was also quick to arrange the flight back to Katmandu as the 6-8 hour bus ride might be too arduous after our trek. The MMT team was excellent and I highly recommend Guide Raju for his spirit, care and leadership of our cheerful and hardworking porters Rudra and Prakash. Thank you MMT Dolakh for making our Annapurna trekking experience a terrific lifetime experience and achievement. Cheers!

We hiked to Everest Base Camp with Mountain Mart and our Guide Sudip. The Tour was great. The views were amazing. Everything was perfectly organized. Our Oxygenlevel was measured by our guide daily, this made us feel safe and also gäbe US the confidence to be in Professional hands. Our Guide was very helpul, reliable and friendly. We made it up to EBC, we had a great time and we would highly recommend everyone to join the adventure. Mountain Mart and our guide Sudip fully met our expecttions and we are happy for the choice we made. Lodges and food were also better than expected. The trip is exhausting but worth every step! Our guide was Yukumar and our Porter Ratna. Both very polite and friendly and helpful the entire way.
Yukumar met up at the airport when we arrived in Kathmandu, made sure our hotel was taken care of and was ready in the morning for our drive to ramechhap airport. He took care of our bags, boarding passes and informed us what was happening every step of the way.
From Lukla to Gokyo, he was helpful in pointing out features and mountains over and over because we couldn't remember the names and was friendly the whole way telling us about himself and Nepal. Every question he answered honestly and friendly. He asked us each step of the way how we were feeling, if we were hungry, and just overall how we were doing. Luckily we only had a couple of days of feeling the altitude change. Yukumar was prompt on making sure we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the times we liked and never made us feel like we were running late or early for anything.
Once we arrived in Gokyo, Yukumar was on top of everything enough to let us know we should hike Gokyo Ri that afternoon to catch the sunset and because the weather report for the next day called for clouds. Thanks to him we were able to see the most beautiful mountains in the perfect light. He was even very encouraging was I struggled the 2000 ft to the summit.
On our way back to Lukla, he allowed us to change our nights stay to better suit how much we wanted to trek and what we wanted to see on the way back. Again, he was very helpful and made everything feel easy and with us in mind. Even making sure we had running hot water for a much needed shower.
Ratna was the silent machine that carried our bags up and down. That alone made it hard to complain but even if he didn't speak English, he played cards with Yukumar and us. Yukumar translated for us when we wanted to talk and we were thankful for his happy demeanor the entire time. He was prompt to pick up our bags in the morning and always beat us to the lodge or arrived right with us.
Yukumar and Ratna made us feel welcome and made sure we never felt isolated or lost. It wouldn't have been the same without them.

Overall I am very impressed with MMT. The CEO Dolakh was very helpful prior to the trip and once I arrived in Kathmandu everything was taken care of. I was met at the airport, taken to my hotel and taken on an informative city tour. On the trek itself I can't even begin to explain how wonderful my guide Bhoj was. He also took care of everything. He was extremely kind, very very patient, helpful when I was feeling ill, knowledgeable about the area and terrain and was always enthusiastic and cheerful. On the last day of the trek I felt like giving up but he kept my spirits up and even carried my backpack for me. Our porter Chandra was also a hero, carrying all that luggage, always with a smile on his face. I would definately trek with Bhoj at MMT again.

My girlfriend and I had the Everest Base Camp (EBC) - 12 days trek on our bucket list for awhile and had a difficult time deciding which company to use. We emailed a handful of trekking companies and Mountain Mart were the first to respond. They answered all our questions in a timely manner.
A day before our trek, we had a debrief at the office in Kathmandu. They explained the itinerary, broken day by day - offered any gear we might’ve needed and did not bring (e.g. trekking poles and sleeping bags). They provided duffel bags to be carried by the porters throughout the trek. The duffel bag should include clothes needed for duration of the trek. Thus, your trekking backpack (about 42L) is not needed. However, your day bag (about 20L) is highly recommended. The day bag should hold your essentials during the day such as camera, medicine, water bottles, etc. We also met our awesome trek guide, Nabin.
Throughout our trek, Nabin was super attentive and accommodating. He consistently checked up on us to make sure we didn’t develop acute mountain sickness (AMS). He also provided complementary fruits everyday after dinner. Nabin didn’t rush us and made sure we’re walking at a comfortable pace. Every night after dinner, he would check our heart rate and oxygen level to make sure we weren’t getting sick. If you are fortunate enough to have Nabin as your trek guide, ask him about his life story and his perspective on the Nepali culture.
I highly recommend Mountain Mart and Nabin for your EBC trek. We plan to do the Gokyo trek in the near future and will definitely use this company again.
P.S. we booked our trip online in our home country, USA. We paid 20% deposit online and the remaining balance in person.

I can’t speak highly enough of this company! I decided very last minute to do this, booking merely weeks in advance and Dolakh was very efficient with replying to my questions! On the trek my guide Bhoj was a superstar- always smiling and happy, and always making sure I was well fed with snacks! He really helped me make it up Kala Patthar and when I fell over and hurt my ankle and he quickly looked after it. When I next come to Nepal I will definitely request to have him as a guide again.

We had a great experience with Mountain Mart Treks. We booked the trek online via email. Dolakh, the owner, was super responsive and helpful. We put 20% down and paid the rest upon our arrival to Kathmandu.
A day before the trek we met at the offices. We met Dolakh and our guide Nabin. They went over what we were doing everyday and all the gears we would need. He gave great advice and tips. Very helpful!
The next day a driver picked us up with out guide from our hotel. Nabin took care of us throughout the trek. He provided us with everything we needed including snacks and water. He was very attentive and also a great time.
I would def recommend!

We just completed the 6-day Annapurna Base Camp trek and it was incredible! From beginning to end, Mountain Mart Treks made the entire experience a positive one. When making the arrangements for the trek, communication with Dolakh was great. He was always quick to respond to my emails and answered all my questions thoroughly. Our guide Nabin and our porter Anille (not sure of correct spelling) were AWESOME! They were very attentive and took great care of us along the way. Nabin shared his knowledge of the Annapurna mountain range and local culture with us. We learned a lot from him.
When the trek got difficult for us, he was encouraging and allowed us to go at our own comfortable pace. Nabin kept us laughing along the way with his great sense of humour as well. Nabin and Anille are a fantastic team and we feel so fortunate to have had them as our guide and porter. If you are considering a trek in Nepal, we highly recommend Mountain Mart Treks & Expedition.

My wife and I completed a 5 day Poon Hill trek which was customized by Dolakh (Mtn. Mart Mgr.). Overall we were overwhelmed by the Annapurna range, the villages and friendly people. This could not have been accomplished without our amazing guide Ram Bhandari and our porter Ghit. From the moment we met the team until they dropped us off at our hotel they were always taking care of our needs. Ram was so informative of everything we saw and right by our side during the trek. He has a background working as a chef so he ensured we were getting the best meals and safe drinks. Every night after dinner he presented us with a fruit plate that was award winning. We highly recommend Mountain Mart and most importantly Ram Bhandari.

Just completed the 14 day Everest basecamp trek! It was a breath taking experience :)
Communication with dolakh was easy and he answered all our questions when we were planning our trip. He was able to accommodate our travel dates even though they weren’t listed on the website.
The 14 day EBC package included 12 day EBC trek and 2 nights in hotel jampa in Kathmandu.
Our guide Lochan was excellent. He is so funny and I was glad to have him as a guide. He is very knowledgeable about the mountains and altitude sickness. He checked out vitals/assessed our wellbeing every night. He speaks English very well also.
Dawa our porter was also very friendly and it was a pleasure having him as part of our group. He accompanied us on our acclimatizing days as well as some other days and it was nice to talk with him too, he’s such a strong hiker. He makes a delicious fresh apple pie ::yum::
In the end my friend and I both made it to EBC successfully and I would say I was very satisfied with the services provided by mountain mart (dolakh, lochan, and dawa).
It is not an easy trek by any means, but reaching the goal was so sweet. I also made it to kala Patthar summit, I highly recommend the extra effort to do that hike because the view is absolutely stunning.
There were a few easy days, but it was pretty physically tough and also mentally tough with the colder temperatures. Over all though it was an amazing adventure and I’d recommended it to anyone who really wants to take on the challenge.

I just completed one of my dreams of going to Everest Base Camp. I was very pleased to go with Mountain Mart trek. The owner, Dolakh was able to answer the many questions we had before our trip via email. He was very accommodating to my specific schedule.
When we arrived in Nepal from the US, and completed immigration and collected our baggage, we were greeted by our guide Lochan. From that moment on, he truly was our “guide” before, during and after the trek. He always made sure all our concerns and needs were addressed throughout the trek.
The company also provided us with a porters. We had the pleasure of having Dawa as our Porter. He carried our duffel bags all the way up and down the trek and all the stops in between. And when he is not helping carrying our bags, he would join us during some of our hikes to assist us during the hike. He also was great to have around to take the “perfect picture”. And at night he would join us at the dinning room to help service us. He also took the time to make us an apple pie dessert.
I was very happy having Lochan and Dawa as our guide and porter. By the end of the trek, they were like my new brothers who helped me achieve my dreams.
I would highly recommend Mountain Mart Treks if you plan an doing the Everest Base Camp.

Excellent professional service from Mountain Mart owner, Dolakh and assigned team; guide Raju and porters Rudra and Prakash. Mountain Mart website was comprehensive and well designed with detailed Everyday itinerary. Dolakh was Super fast in addressing questions and concerns. On the trail, Raju managed our expectations really well, briefing us what to expect on the weather and trek the next day, and how to dress. More importantly, they monitored our health throughout the 10 days of trek making sure we did not hv signs of altitude sickness with the oxymeter, and checking with us on how we felt on the trek. Having a guide and 2 porters for the 3 of us was ideal. We had one to one company at our pace throughout the trek.
All in an excellent experience and I would hesitate to recommend Mountain Mart and their excellent guides and porters.

Myself and my girlfriend did the 10-day Gokyo lakes trek in November 2019. We had an amazing time and were very impressed by Mountain Mart. There was excellent communication from Dolakh before the trip, explaining the details of the itenerary, what kit we would need etc and answering all our questions. The trip itself was fantastic and very well organised. Mountain mart took care of everything and arranged pick up from the airport to our hotel, had a guide accompany us on the flight to Lukla (which can be a bit confusing otherwise), and we were met by the guide and porters on arrival at Lukla.
Our guide on the trip, Makar, was fantastic and spoke excellent english and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the trip.
We would highly recommend Mountain Mart for trekking in Nepal, and we would certainly use them again for our next trip there.

We have just returned from an amazing 10 day trek to Gokyo-Ri with Mountain Mart.
Prior to our arrival in Nepal we were very impressed with the communication from company owner Dolakh, who made sure any questions were answered promptly, we knew what kit to bring and we had a smooth transfer from the airport to our hotel.
Makar, our guide, made sure we had a great time on our trek. He was very knowledgable about the local area, good company and made us feel safe at all times. He was also incredibly well organised making sure we were well fed, hydrated and rested throughout the trip. At the slightly chaotic Lukla airport we sailed through the check in and departure process with his help.
Bir, our porter was also excellent. He tirelessly carried our bags during our trek and was also willing to help whenever needed.
We would highly recommend Mountain Mart for trekking in Nepal and would certainly use them again.

This was the first time I had experienced a trip like this as I had never gone Trekking before and I had a great time in Nepal!
Originally we were booked for the Gokyo Lake/EBC Trek, but ended up just completing the Gokyo Trek due to our bodies deciding that was enough for us.
We had a great guide Kumar! We enjoyed his company throughout the trek. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. At times when I struggled with carrying my own bag he would offer to carry it, which was much appreciated! He always encouraged us to take the rest we needed, never making it feel like we were being pushed faster or harder then we could go.
When we had to turn around earlier than planned he handled the change very well and adjusted the plan easily for us.
They booked great tea houses to rest for the nights which made the experience all that much better. After a long day of walking it was great to have good places to relax.
We also got a Kathmandu Tour a day before the trek and had them book a 3 day Chitwan National Park trip after our trek. Both which made the trip all that much more enjoyable.
Mountain Mart and their staff made our trip an awesome experience!

Myself and a friend booked for the 10 day Gokyo Ri summit trek from Lukla, starting on the 14th November. Neither of us could recommend our guide (Tilak) and porter (Bhula) any higher - our trip was absolutely incredible from beginning to end and it was due to these two!
Everything was so well organised and Tilak really knew his stuff, giving us so much information about the mountains and Nepal as we carried through with our trek. Both Tilak and Bhula could not have done anymore for us to ensure our experience was enjoyable.
We had an amazing time and (spurred on by snickers bars provided by Tilak) we summitted Gokyo Ri for sunrise to the most amazing views of the Himalayas.
Book with Mountain Mart and if they’re available, request these two to support you on your trek - you won’t regret it!

We have booked the trek with Mountain Mart Trecks and had very good first contact with them over internet. We did a quick induction at Kathmandu and have been introduced to our guide Sudip! He was very kind, knowledgeable and had good English during all our 4 days trek, helping us and making sure we had the best guesthouse/hotel and indicate us the options available to thoroughly enjoy.
The gear provided was really good quality, so just request them to provide what you need and do not bother to buy it. We had hesitation to bring some equipment but decided to bring the minimum, the rest being provided by them :-). Everything was carried by our porter, Parkas who was also awesome all the way.
Highly recommend to book with them, just ask them what is available!

Having never done a high altitude trek I was excited and slightly nervous. Everest base camp is something I’ve also wanted to do, and going through mountain mart was the best decision I made! From early emails and WhatsApp messages with Dolahk, it made preparations easy. Once I arrived in Kathmandu the day before the trek we met that afternoon for a last minute briefing and double check I had everything which after the meeting, my guide Bishal, led me around Thamel and helped me pick up some last minute things (cheap too!). The following 12 days were nothing short of amazingly beautiful landscapes and at times some tough trekking at altitude. All of which was made so easy because of my amazing guide Bishal. He was so attentive, I never had to leave my seat at the lodges I would simply look up and he would already be walking over. He set the pace and knew when I should rest more or could work harder, he was also very knowledgeable having grown up in the Khumbu region. I can’t fault his amazing service and I don’t think he even broke a sweat the entire time, he’s superhuman!! I would recommend mountain mart to anyone I know without hesitation!
